Thomas Dollbaum is a Tampa-born songwriter based in New Orleans.

“Dollbaum's gentle mumble is somewhere between Richard Buckner and Arthur Russell… [he] paints the bleakest pictures with a knowing grin, delivering lyrics of rough-living characters and their grim stories as gorgeous, softly glowing Americana.” —AllMusic

“He is a brilliant lyricist, with an MFA in poetry, and his narrative-laden songs are laden with superb imagery that’s powerful, often disturbing and, at times, literary.” —Americana UK

“compelling lyricism drawing as much from the dark caricatures of Harry Crews and Denis Johnson as Springsteen’s realism, The Killers’ gritty portraiture, and the alt-Americana of Neutral Milk Hotel” —Beats Per Minute

“Dollbaum’s voice, equal parts Justin Vernon and Damien Jurado, perfectly interprets these exquisite tales of hopelessness and lost dreams.” —Popmatters

Dollbaum will take his band out to the west coast in July, including stops in Chicago, Seattle, and Los Angeles. A full list of dates can be found below.

You may have seen Dollbaum’s name on MJ Lenderman’s shirt during his NPR Tiny Desk Concert. Rolling Stone was enamored by Dollbaum’s set at SXSW in March, calling his songs "deeply felt Southern rock anthems with the feel of classics you just haven't heard yet.” His last album was 2022's Wellswood on Fat Possum / Big Legal Mess. His most recent release is December’s double single Do Me a Kindness / Fate of Flight.
